A new gear pump install on a system and it did not deliver oil, what would be the most likely problem?
Check following:

Direction of rotation. In case of 3-phase el motor it could be wrongly reconnected.

Lack of oil. Check suction line valves layout and oil tank level. Check filters for clogging.

Air leak in suction. Check if all required gaskets/o-rings installed.

Pressure control/relief valve settings. Check if it is not bypassing oil.
