Answer:

There are few possible causes:

  • Over filled casing
  • Plugged tank vent
  • Wrong oil grade for application with no antifoaming additives.
  • Water in oil
  • Solids in oil
  • Oil aerated

Foaming reduces life of oil. Lip sealed shafts may fail due to lack of oil wedge.
