What is the purpose and functions of expansion tank in hydraulic systems?
The expansion (header) tank, while supplying an adequate amount of oil to the system also has following functions:
- Releasing air from the system
- Settling down of dirt and water
- Heat dissipation
- Providing hydraulic pumps and whole system with required static head for proper operation
