1.Do not use incinerator for burning garbage, oily and sewage sludge in ports/harbours/estuaries
2.No waste oil burning to be performed in boilers at ports /harbours/estuaries
3.the following items prohibited to burn in incinerator:
- 1) Annex I, II and II cargo residues of the present convention
- 2) Contaminated packing materials
- 3) Polychlorinated biphenyls (pcbs)
- 4) Garbage, as defined in Annex V of the present convention, containing more than traces of heavy metals refined petroleum products, containing halogen compounds
For vessels incinerators designed below 850 C: incineration of polyvinyl chlorides (pvcs) shall be prohibited in the incinerator.
For vessels incinerators designed above 850 C with IMO approval certificate:

1) Incineration of solid waste containing approximately 20% plastics is allowed only with personnel responsible for the operation of the incinerator and monitoring the combustion flue gas temperature at all times.

2) Continuous feed is not allowed when incinerator temperature is below allowed temperature of 850 C.
