Running LO pump required because:
1. Before starting to ensure a complete oil film on all bearings developed prior engine started
2. After stopping a diesel engine, the lube oil pump should run until the difference in temperature between the inlet and outlet is from 2° to 5°. This allows the bearing to cool evenly.
