Which Certificates issued by the Class Society should be carried onboard?
The following certificates are issued by the Class Society on behalf of the vessel s Flag Administration.
- International Tonnage Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with the International Tonnage Convention stating the gross and net tonnage of the vessel. The certificate does not expire.
- International Load Line Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with the Load Line Convention stating the loading marks. The certificate is valid for five years and is subject to periodical (annual) surveys.
- Cargo Ship Safety Construction Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with the SOLAS Convention. The certificate is valid for five years and is subject to periodical (annual) surveys.
- Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with the SOLAS Convention and COLREG. The certificate is valid for five years and is subject to periodical (annual) surveys.
- Cargo Ship Safety Radio Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with the SOLAS Convention. The certificate is valid for five years.
- International Safety Management Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with SOLAS 1974, reg.IX/4. ISM Code, paragraph 13. The certificate is valid for five years subject to an Internal Audit.
- Exemption Certificate: May be issued for SOLAS certificates 2.4, 2.5 or 2.6 by the Class Society.
- I.O.P.P. Certificate: Issued by the Class Society indicating compliance with MARPOL Convention Annex I. The certificate is valid for five years and is subject to periodical (annual/intermediate) surveys
The following Class certificates are issued by Class Society indicating that the vessel remains classed.
- Hull
- Machinery
- Reefer Plant
- Boiler
- Cargo Gear
The above certificates are valid for 5 years, subject to annual and intermediate inspections. All certificates issued by the Class Society, including due surveys of class items of machinery and equipment, are recorded in the quarterly list surveys of Class.
