Please share MAN B&W 6K80ME-C9.2 operational and maintenance experience
While operating this and similar engine models following issues experienced:
- Control Network fault resulting in RPM hunting, vibration. Issue resolved by proper maintenance (terminals cleaning and tightening) of CCUs and ACUs.
- CCU and ACU overheating. Regular air filters inspection and cleaning required. Additional cooling may be needed (extra blower)
- If one of duplicated sensors fails it should be disabled in the system otherwise displayed value will be different from real as system uses averaging with duplicated sensors.
- Before switching to fuel of different grade it's parameters to be updated in the system in order cylinder LO quantities could be adjusted properly.
