During the inspection of a medium speed diesel engine main bearing the shell is found to have approximately 15% of the white metal overlay worn away and some light score marks on the exposed aluminium tin bearing metal. Should we replace it?

Refit the shell as it is, this is an acceptable condition for a thin shell bearing after a period of service.
