What may cause peak (maximum) combustion pressure to go high while there are no abnormalities with the compression pressure, it is normal?
The high combustion pressure may be caused by:
- Early fuel injection
- Incorrect setup of fuel pumps/injectors
- Incorrect settings of VIT (Variable Injection Timing)
High peak pressure manifests itself by a knocking sound from the affected unit. This unit will be affected by higher forces and may be damaged in a short period of time if the engine will be allowed to operate in such condition.
