PV valves are fitted to limit the pressure or vacuum in the tank which may develop under the influence of environmental conditions or during cargo operations.
No shut-off valves may be fitted either above or below the PV valves so under no circumstances the PV valve operation may be compromised.
Provision may be made to bypass the PV valves by using a separate parallel line.
