We experience the sudden starting of Alfa Lubricator standby pump without an actual drop in supply pressure. No leakages or mistakenly closed valves observed. When the stand by is switched off, it is restarting shortly, once switched to AUTO. What may be the cause of such strange behavior?

From the facts provided, the cause may be a faulty Alfa Lubricator RPM pickup sensor. Since it is essential for proper cylinder LO injection timing, a failure of the sensor to detect crankshaft position or transmit detected position to the MCU may lead to "strange" effects, including starting the standby pump.
Check the sensor, clean or replace as necessary. This helped to solve exactly the same problem on a couple of our vessels.
