We noticed a smell of sewage in accommodation recently. So far, no progress has been made with finding the source of the smell. From where is it coming?
The smell usually comes from sinks and drains. The cause may be related to:
- Faulty Sewage Plant Blower or associated piping. It is essential to keep bacteria alive by supplying the air. If Blower fails, bacteria die, sewage remains untreated and spreads the smell. Check the Blower performance and associated piping for blockage.
- Sludge accumulation in the sewage plant, which leads to disturbed internal circulation and mixing of air with sewage. Remember, that Sewage Plant should be flushed regularly and cleaned yearly.
- Accommodation ventilation adjusted for excessive recirculation. In this case, the negative pressure develops in the accommodation, which leads to sewage gasses admission through sinks and drains.
