If the crew member is in the Engine room and hears the CO2 release alarm, he must leave the Engine room as quickly as possible, closing all doors behind him.

At this point, the Fire alarm and Fire fighting procedure should be already initiated and crew mustered accordingly. Only ER fie party remains in ECR, normally comprising of Chief Engineer and rating.

After sounding the CO2 release alarm by openening the release cabinet, carry out the crew counting to ensure that no crew left behind in the ER. When CO2 is released, they have no chance of survival.
