Sensor value received by Auto tuning from PMI is not valid, Auto tuning fails.

Is it a sensor or some communication error?

Answer:

Possible causes of Auto Tuning failures are:

  • PMI sensor defective and sends erroneous data
  • PMI Auto tuning program not running
  • MOP-B is not running
  • Program for transferring values from the PMI Auto Tunig program to MOP-B has stop running
  • PMI Auto tuning PC has lost network connection to MOP-B.

Most often the cause of such troubles is faulty sensor. Examine engine’s process information (Pmax, Pcomp) from the PMI computer for abnormalities. The unit with faulty sensor will have abnormal Pmax and/or Pcomp. Replace the sensor with spare one and confirm the combustion parameters are back to normal. Carry out Auto Tuning.
