Why may cylinder pressure measurement deviate more from average value than alarm limit?
Main Engine is MAN ME-B series.
High deviation of cylinder pressure could be caused by malfunction of:
- PMI pressure sensor
- Fuel valve
- Exhaust valve
- Fuel suction valve
- Exh. Valve actuator
- FIVA valve
- Fuel Booster
- HCU Accumulator
Start with PMI pressure sensor, make sure it is working properly. Check the gasket, renew if they are leaking exhaust gas. Replace the sensor with spare one to evaluate the sensor performance.
