your lifeboat was seriously damaged during last drill – actions? Certs affected?
- Technical, Marine and HSE Superintendents should be informed first to asses the severity of damage and prepare for next steps
- Flag and Class to be informed (by the Company, not by the Crew) and exemption to be obtained till the time lifeboat is replaced or repaired. Exemption Certificate will be issued and temporary International Ship Safety Equipment Certificate may be required (Flag and Class will advise on this)
- Lifeboat should be surveyed and repaired by the authorized workshop
- Class surveyor should inspect lifeboat after repair or replacement
Minor repairs can be done by crew if lifeboat watertightness and maneuverability were not compromised.
