Answer:

1.Check the shaft for smooth turning and absence of vibration and play. This will ensure that bearings are in good order

2.Conduct Meager Test to check insulation. All windings must be above 200 MOhms, better 1000 MOhms.

3.Test winding resistance and compare to previously recorded/manufacturer figures. Resistance should not be lower.

4.Check direction of rotation (for 3 phase motors). Reconnect windings to change direction if required.

5.Check current Amp of running motor and compare with previously recorded/manufacturer figures. Current must not be higher than previously recorded value and value motor from specification.
