Described issue could be
Due to the trouble of inlet/discharge of that stage, the air is compressed again and the temperature is increased.
Check the inlet/discharge valve of that stage and repair or replace.
Due to the abnormal of the inlet/discharge valve before (or after) that stage, the inlet (or discharge) pressure abnormally decreases (or increases) and the compression ratio of that stage increases, thus increasing the temperature.
Check the inlet/discharge valve before (or after) that stage and repair or replace.
Due to the insufficient cooling capacity of the intercooler, the output temperature (or inlet temperature of the following stage) increases.
Check the cooling water system to see if the valve is not closed or if the cooling water pump is not lacking in flow rate and remove the cause. If the flow rate is OK, clean the cooler.
