What would be the probable cause of a bearing that overheats, even though the bearing was carefully and properly installed.

Answer:

Excess of lubricant in bearing housing could be one of causes. Lubricant level/amount must be equal to recommended by maker. Extra lubricant interferes diffusion of generated heat.
