A spring-loaded relic valve is needed to relieve high pressure.

The spiral-shaped casing of a pump of increasing size that collects the liquid discharged by the impeller.

PUMP PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

Positive displacement pump systems are fitted with a relief (regulating) valve for adjusting pump discharge pressure and to avoid the possibility of rupturing the pump casing or discharge pipe.

CASING

A covering of sheets of metal or other material such as fire resistant composition board used to enclose all or a portion of a steam-generating unit.

BRIDGE RECTIFIER

An arrangement of diodes (electrical one way valves) that rectify DC current to AC current, often positioned within a heat sink casing to limit excessive temperature build up.

RUDDER TRUNK

Casing extending from deck on which the tiller or quadrant is situated, to the rudder stock opening.

BOWDEN CABLE

A wire made of spring steel which is enclosed in a helical casing and used to transmit longitudinal motions over distances, particularly around corners.
