UMS PROCEDURES

The vessel must have the certificate and the approval from DNV to operate in the UMS mode. Before the change to UMS mode it is necessary :

switch on the Deadman alarm
to carry out the patrol of ER and SG room according to UMS Route Plan
to check all items from UMS Check List and complete it
to make all necessary notes in the Engine Log Book
to inform the watch officer on the bridge about the change to UMS mode
