GBL

Government B/L a bill of lading issued by the U.S. government.

DELIVERY ORDER

Written Authorization from a carrier to deliver goods to a named party. It is normally issued upon surrendering the Original bill of lading to the carrier at the port of destination. A carrier's delivery order (negotiable document) is sometimes used for splitting a B/L (after surrender) in different parcels and have the same function as a B/L. The authorisation of the entitled party for the shipment to a party other than the consignee showed on the Waybill.

B/L STATUS

represents whether the bill of lading has been input, rated, reconciled, printed, or released to the customer.

BILL OF LADING

A document by which the Master of a ship acknowledges having received in good order and condition (or the reverse) certain specified goods consigned to him by some particular shipper, and binds himself to deliver them in similar condition, unless the perils of the sea, fire or enemies prevent him, to the consignees of the shippers at the point of destination on their paying him the stipulated freight. A bill of lading specifies the name of the master, the port and destination of the ship the goods, the consignee, and the rate of freight.

CONSIGNOR

The person named in the bill of lading as the one from whom the goods have been received for shipment.
